I’d love to paint some commissions of children set against backgrounds that have special meaning to that family. As an example, this painting is of my grandson Elijah holding a sparkler under a starry night.

I chose the background because it captures the time when Elijah had just learned to do the hand movements to ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’.

I was thrilled that when his mum showed him the finished painting, he at once started to do the hand movements. That’s when you know you got it right!
