I wanted to convey in this painting the highly expressive movements and passion of this traditional Spanish dance. The painting’s simplicity reinforces the total focus on the dancer, and the intense energy of the dance.

By blending the bright colours (I love to use), with the highlights and shading falling naturally on her costume, I hoped to convey the movement and vibrancy of the moment.
