This commission was for a portrait of the couple’s grandsons, and I was pleased with how the final painting reflects the close bond of these happy brothers. It was an interesting exercise to accurately paint the boys’ skin colours, as they were so different. despite both being Eurasian. The younger boy had the warm olive Asian skin colour, while his older brother’s skin colour had the cool, blue and pink undertones of his European parentage.
