Oils on board
This commission was for a portrait of the couple's grandsons, and I was pleased with how the final painting reflects the close bond of these happy brothers. It was an interesting exercise to accuracy paint the boys' skin colours, as they were so different. despite both being Eurasian. The younger boy had the warm olive Asian skin colour, while his older brother's skin colour had the cool, blue and pink undertones of his European parentage.

“We supplied Fran with a photo of our grandchildren and received in return a treasure that will be a heirloom to prize forever. Fran took a nice photo and created a portrait with depth, texture, vibrancy, and emotion. Thank you Fran, we love your painting for capturing the essence of “our boys” so creatively and artistically.” — David and Jean (Jan 2022)
